GamiPress Birthdays GPL Overview:
- Birthdays add-on lets you award your users for their birthday.
- For example, you can award 100 points on each user’s birthday and award an achievement to celebrate the user’s 18th birthday.
- In addition, this add-on comes with built-in integration for BuddyPress and BuddyBoss profile fields.
Note: This add-on is designed to work based on the user’s birthday.
To award the account registration date, please check the GamiPress – Anniversaries add-on.
GamiPress Birthdays GPL Features
- Reward your users to celebrate their birthday.
- Ability to configure rewards based on the user age (18th birthday, 25th birthday, etc).
- Users will get awarded on their birthday without login thanks to background processing to determine the user’s birthday and age.
- Configure the user meta where the user’s birthday gets stored.
- Includes integration for BuddyPress and BuddyBoss profile fields.
GamiPress Birthdays GPL Getting Started
GamiPress Birthdays GPL add-on lets you award your users for their birthday.
For example, you can award 100 points on each user birthday and award an achievement to celebrate the user 18th birthday.
First, you need to configure Birthdays to setup where your users birthdays are stored through the add-on settings.
This add-on includes buit-in support for:
- BuddyBoss profile fields
- BuddyPress profile fields
After configure the add-on, you will be able to use the activity events included to award your users on their birthdays.

If you have installed BuddyBoss and the Birthdays add-on, you will be able to configure Birthdays to use a BuddyBoss profile field to determine the user birthday.

The unique requirements to make a profile field compatible with Birthdays is that the field need to be configured with the type “Date” and the date format “Y-m-d” as you can see in the next screenshot:
Note: Remember to copy the field ID to being used on Birthdays settings. The field ID can be found in the URL when editing a profile field, in the part of the URL that says “&field_id={FIELD_ID}”, where {FIELD_ID} is the number that corresponds to the field ID.
Setting up Birthdays to use the profile field
Next, navigate to the add-on settings on GamiPress menu -> Settings -> Add-ons tab -> Birthdays box and check the setting “From where to check the user birthday?” to “BuddyBoss Profile Field”.
Finally, you need to configure the “Field ID” option with the field ID you have copied before to get Birthdays working with this BuddyBoss profile field.
